Out of the Mouths

Lately it is very common that at least one of my children is speaking in an accent.  I'm not sure where they get this from.  They were born in this country; I swear.  But they think it's wildly hilarious, and while I agree, sometimes I demand normal American English dialect such that they don't lose their identity and REALLY think they are foreign.  It is usually some Norwegian / Russian blend that Paige and Will can do quite well.  More recently, though, Paige has started in with the line, "Well, in my country..." in her thick accent.  I can't help but think of the show "That 70's Show" in which a character, Fez, with an ambiguous accent never reveals his country of origin.  It's truly like living in a sitcom.

In equally not-so-important news, we recently got a new iPad (through Rich's work).  While on the couch organizing the apps and setting it up, Rich had Cole breathing down his neck.  Finally, I hear from Cole, "I don't want to tell you what to do, but..."

I didn't need to hear the rest.  The 5 year-old WAS indeed telling the adult what to do.

Laughing! My kids are British at least 25% of the time. My brother Zach is to blame. This has been going on for a solid year.
