Here’s the problem with February. After my birthday and Valentine’s Day, things go steeply downhill. Here are some reasons:
1) We’re finally getting some snow, but this late in the game and no one is overly excited about it.
2) We know that March follows and sometimes it’s weather is a February repeat.
3) Just when you think you had a stellar-health winter, the sickies hit.
4) Seems to be a heavy test time in school.
Thankfully, we were able to feel well for the great weekend that just ended. Cole had been home sick with a fever Friday (shout out to Grandma and Grandpa C for watching Cole while I went to the “cold store” – a.k.a. grocery store). But had kicked it by Saturday – just in time for my sister and brother-in-law’s baby shower.
And then the transmission of the virus was nice enough to stall hitting Paige until today so that she could compete in her cheer competition Sunday, where they took 2nd.
AND NOW for the funny of the day, since a giggle a day will help February pass faster…
Cole: What color are caramels?
Me: Caramels? Uh…kind of brown
Cole: I mean the bird.
Me: Oh! Cardinals?
Cole: Yeah – they’re red, right?
Me: Yup, bud. Cardinals are red.
