Open For Business

Wednesday, November 9, 2011
Lately it has seemed as if I wake up in the morning with a sign that reads, "Open for Business" on my face.  Instantly, I'm bombarded with wardrobe malfunctions, sibling tiffs, hair that needs to be done, special breakfast requests, etc.

It seemed to peak today when I step out of the shower at 7 a.m. dripping and Cole comes running into the bathroom to ask me if I can come in his room and help him with his puzzle.  Uh.  No.  I let him know that it's really early and I have to get ready and get Paige and Will out the door (as if he hasn't been present here and seen this very routine done every day this school year) so we could do it later.

He proceed to pout and then STOMP off as if trying to leave Cole foot-sized holes in our floor on the way out (but only with 1 foot...couldn't quite coordinate both pounding so heavily).  I followed him and had a short but effective talk about how throwing fits doesn't work to get our way.

He recovered well.  But tomorrow, around 6:45 a.m. I'll reopen and will address whatever issues the day has brought thus far...happily.

I totally get my way when I throw fits.

PS...I would have loved to have seen this foot-stomping action!
