A Day In Pictures

Monday, February 22, 2010
I've been pretty stingy with the pictures lately, so here are some highlights from a Monday:

Because we had a good dose of heart attack snow for once (snow that is ultra heavy and packs well and, therefore, will give you a heart attack when you attempt shoveling) we decided to put a cute gift from our friends the Diehls to work - a snowman kit.

This first picture shows our first guy. Cole is NOT looking at the camera because he is infatuated with the plow that was clearing our cul-de-sac. Will is quite proud, though.

Here we've added a "girl" snowman. Cole is now out of the project as he is on his trike imitating the snow plow...forward, reverse, forward, reverse.

Here are the boys watching the movie Cars. Cole is a big McQueen and Mater fan in the form of cars and books, but hasn't really ever seen the movie. Since he took a 40 minute nap (too short) and Will is still kicking a stomach bug he had over the weekend, I thought I'd use this time to allow them to rest while I went down and exercised. This is literally the first time I've used a movie (on week days) to do something other than what NEEDED to be done such as make dinner. I'm trying to overcome the mom guilt and have to say it went over well.

And since the post office decided to prolong the Valentine's Day holiday and deliver packages from G&G Kelly TODAY, the kids got to open these fun treats which brought smiles to their faces. Thank you!

Cute pictures! I'm glad you got the right snow to use the snowman kit...we've gotten more frequent snow than normal in STL this year, i feel, but no "heart attack snow"! so making a snowman has been difficult.

Oh my gosh do I know what you mean by heart-attack snow! I almost had one! And DANG - we were supposed to go out and build a real snowman both yesterday and today, but we found other things to do (and I have the rainbow "fruity pebble treats" to prove it). Oh and P.S. do "necessary things" that allow movies to be put on include mommy naps? I'm just asking...um...for a friend...
