Tonight when putting the kids to bed I was worn out. Done with the reasoning; done with the catering. I read Paige her new book we got at the book fair tonight and it was lights out. Two minutes later I was in my bathroom and she comes prancing in with a semi-smile on her face. (The face that lets me know that whatever she is out of bed for is a made-up excuse to be out of bed). I instantly say, "What is it, Paige, because I don't have any patience." Maybe a little too blunt, but honest. She turns and says, "Okay if you don't have any patience, then nevermind." Though I was proud that she didn't whine or put up a fight, it also verified that it was not important. A few minutes later while downstairs, Rich found this note dropped from the balcony:
"Deer mom I hoap this is not to unoing to you but I love you I doo not hav a way to duskrif that to joopdr and back."
The translation: Dear Mom, I hope this is not too annoying to you, but I love you. I do not have a way to describe that - to Jupiter and back.
Yes, she got another visit from me. :)

OK, that almost made ME cry and I'm not her mom! So sweet.
But why do only want to tell us this stuff AFTER we're out of patience (and don't worry, I tell mine that sometimes, too) and AFTER they've been put to bed? Why doesn't this thought cross someone's mind at, oh, say, 9am?
oh, doesn't that just break your heart.
and don't worry, we've all had those days where your head is about to pop off and explode due to whining and stuff.
Wow - she is even more sensitive than I even thought - love her!! I can't believe how old she is - it's so strange to picture her going back in her room and writing you a note!!
Mommy guilt is right. Jeez. Why didn't she just say "Dear Mom: Thanks for breaking my little spirit and sending me back to bed with no patience". It's amazing -- when you're a parent you find guilt in places you never knew existed. She is so very sweet.
Oh my goodness...how sweet and TOTALLY mom-guilt inducing. I'm glad Logan can't write yet!!! What a sweetie :)
