First, we tried an "experiment" from Family Fun magazine. It said that if you wrap an egg in a silk tie and boil for 15 minutes, the print of the tie will be on the egg. This was intriguing and I doubted the outcome, but we tried it. Two neckties (sorry Rich) and 4 eggs later, we had 1 semi-success and the rest were duds. (Not recommended overall). But have no fear because the kids were EQUALLY excited about dissecting the neckties with scissors AND making their very own egg salad recipes. <--I had to be the taste tester. They were pretty good since Paige has made egg salad before and Will was kind of following her lead with his. Unfortunately, he skipped the "peel the egg" step which turns out is quite crucial.
Later, Will was determined to put a dog treat in the dog's Kong toy. We are actually out of dog treats right now and peanut butter wasn't going to happen. So, he settled with Cheerios. I found this on the floor:
He said he shined a flashlight on it so the dogs would notice it. Clever. Probably ineffective, but clever.
Lastly, I had asked the big kids if they wanted to go shoe shopping with me when dad gets home from work. Will replied, "No, we don't. But I do need another shirt with a tractor on it." Oh, okay, just a while-you're-out request? Nice.

Seriously? That picture is too much!!! Oh, I can't wait to see them!
you're brave trying out the experiments.
i love that shirt request. you know, just any old tractor shirt will do. my dad works for john deere...he would get a kick out of that.
I am so glad you posted on the tie egg thing. I read that in Family Fun (new favorite magazine) as well and really wanted to try it. Now I'll skip it!! I LOVE the flashlight! I think it's quite the clever idea :)
it sounds like your shopping list looks like this:
1 tractor shirt for Will
2 new ties for Rich
1 cookbook for Paige
1 new pair of Express Jeans for Nicole (just thought I'd try to slip that one in there...)
Cracking up at the flashlight, Will.
Uh, Mom, as long as you're out? I could use a new tractor shirt myself. I prefer green. And I noticed the Kong toy right away. Is something WRONG with your dogs? Couldn't be more obvious. Jeez.
