Up and Down

This weekend was a good one, although I would not have thought so with how it started...

Cole has been struggling with a little diarrhea (what? You don't want to know these details? Too bad - it's crucial to the story) the past few days. He awoke at 6:00am Saturday and the other kids were still sleeping. So, I cleaned his bottom and brought him in our room to just hang out and "air out" to help heal his raw skin. He was gleefully standing at our window sill looking outside as Rich and I continued to mock sleep just a few more minutes. Then I smelled it and knew we were in trouble. There he was standing bare-bottomed with his sleeper only on his arms, hanging like a cape. And here's the kicker...he was straddling the vent. And do you remember the vital diarrhea detail earlier? Yeah. Rich was on vent detail and I was on baby clean-up. Forty-five minutes later we started the day.

But tonight with the freak snow storm we decided to have a fire. Then, with the kids' new obsession with the movie "The Sandlot," we decided to have psuedo-s'mores. I say "psuedo" because we had to use chocolate eggs and bug-shaped graham crackers. But they still tasted the same! It was very enjoyable despite REALLY wanting spring weather!

That's seriously one of the grossest things I've ever heard. But funny to read about, b/c it didn't happen in my house!

I've GOT to show the boys "The Sandlot." They've seen bits and pieces before, but I love that movie, and they're going to, too.

We're even supposed to see flurries tonight and tomorrow. Grr.

Um, yeah...gross? That might be the understatement of the century. What a nightmare!!

Ah, the joys of parenthood! I hope Cole is feeling better!

Love you.
