A Decade

Thursday, May 26, 2011
Today Rich and I celebrate 10 years of marriage.  There is definitely something different about this anniversary - being able to say that it has been an entire decade.  I'd like to refer to this first decade as the "build decade."  It is the decade in which we built our foundation for marriage, and built our family as we know it today.

We woke and were getting ready in the bathroom and Rich mentioned that it was just like the morning we got married.  "Because it's rainy and cold?" I said.  "No," he replied, "because we're getting ready in a bathroom with 3 kids and 2 dogs popping in and out."  Okay...so things have changed...majorly.

Tonight we traveled to a fun little restaurant in town for dinner as a family (the solo dinner will wait until maybe this weekend and will have its perks - like no rush trips to the bathroom) and at one point I sat back and just soaked in all we have and thought about how there is no where I'd rather be.

Except maybe doing the same thing in Hawaii.

Aww, happy anniversary, lovebirds :) I remember that day fondly (well, except running into church in the rain).

Enjoy your solo dinner, whenever it is!
