As If

As if I could even begin to summarize the enjoyment and fun that has been this weekend and stretch of nice weather.  The walking paths were hopping.  My lilac bush is budding.  The kids are hyped and entertained.  Life is good!

But, today's post comes with an admission of guilt.  I am not a good disciplinarian to Cole.  At all.  I have no idea why I can't maintain composure when I'm wanting to dish out a good talkin' to, but he flashes a hilarious face and I lose all control.  Here's the scenario...

I decide to break up Will and Cole's wrestle mania because it seems as though some lines are being crossed.  While Will is turned to listen to my words of wisdom, Cole decides opportunity is knocking and goes for the throat.  While I'm still talking.  He got swiftly picked up and placed in the time-out chair (I can count on 1 hand how many times he has had a formal "time out") and was told to stay there until I came to talk to him.

When I returned he made his eyes all wide as if to hear me better and let me know the lesson was really sinking in.  The face was hilarious.  I lost it.  It took 4 tries to get out my less-than-impressive sentence about proper behavior.  I mean, here's what I'm looking at...
Here he's laughing at me as I crumble into a heap of mom-with-no-backbone
And I'm supposed to scold him?  As if.
