One of those movies

Last night I "started" a movie I had taped off of a movie channel recently.  Only 10 minutes into it I was glued and 2 1/2 hours later Rich and I went to bed much later than usual.

The movie was Changeling with Angelina Jolie from at least a few years ago  She plays a single mother in the 1920s of a son who goes missing and there is a downward spiral of corruption and scandal through the LAPD whose only goal is to benefit their reputation.  I knew this part of the story, but didn't know what actually happened to the boy.  And it is a true story.

So the movie has been haunting me for the past 24 hours and makes a parent think about the topic of stranger danger.  We are big fans of the movie Stranger Safety by John Walsh (America's Most Wanted) and the woman who began the baby Einstein franchise.  But I felt the need to "quiz" my kids today just to see where their instincts are.

I gave them a scenario similar to that in the movie.  A person who might look a little familiar pulls up to them walking along the road and tells them I have broken my leg and am at the hospital and they sent this person to come get them.  Do you go?  Here are their scores:

Paige: A+ Not only does she say "no," but she says she would run the other way
Will: B  His instinct was "no," but he was cheating off of his older sister a bit
Cole: F  He would pretty much go with anyone who offered him juice or the opportunity to steer the car.

Oh. My. GOSH! This movie haunted me for months! So scary!!

PS Ya know at the end, when they find the boy that they think is Angelina Jolie's but it's that other couples? The father of that boy is played by Jared's uncle, Jeff Hutchinson.

I loved this movie, but could only watch it once, which is unusual for me if I love something. It's just too gut-wrenching.

Wow, Al - 6 degrees of separation between you and Angie? Cool!
