It's NOT okay

Cole, with his 21 months of life under his belt, is getting a little confident. And with this confidence, he is testing his limits. Therefore, I've had to turn up the severity of discipline for him. I've started the counting and have only had to get to 2 before he will do what he's supposed to (which is funny because he's never really seen what would happen if I made it to 3. It just must seem like it's going to be bad).

But truthfully, this post is about Will. He HATES to see Cole get in trouble - even if he's getting in trouble because he was rotten to Will. And it's true. Cole has the quivering lower lip down to a science and the bowed, dejected head to go along with it that would make even the toughest of tough guys turn soft. So Will goes for the instant hugs, pets, and "it's okays." Unfortunately, IT'S NOT OKAY and Cole needs to know that. So, today I told Will not to comfort him. And he said, "I just can't stand to see him sad." What a good brother. I'm writing this for historical preservation. I feel I may need to refer back to it someday.

oh that will...he's so sweet! bennett is very much the same - will try to smooth things over instead of jack henry getting in trouble.

unfortunately, though, jh doesn't respond at ALL to counting. it's worthless with him. rats.

What a sweetheart! One question, does he also feel that way when his older sister is being disciplined?? :):)

oh my sweetness!! I hear ya though...tough to make your point when big brother is making it all better! Brady has a total fake cry worked out for when I start counting (complete with running to the couch and burying his head in "shame")! I try my hardest not to laugh!
