Then, on Saturday, we surprised her with our birthday present - an empty cage and supplies...and a trip to Petco to pick out her very own hamster. She was ecstatic and genuinely surprised and thankful that this "actually happened." She got very lucky to get a 7 week old baby, male, of the color she desired. He is called "fluffy" and is very well cared for. He looks like this:
On Sunday, we traveled into the city for a visit to the American Girl store - a birthday trip planned by Paige's aunt Deb, cousin Kate and grandma Kelly. It was a very exciting experience for her and she pondered and chose, and spent her birthday money wisely. The day looked like this:
