I have to take a moment to say that Cole is in a great phase right now. He is pretty easy-going and I'm just plain having fun spending each day with him. He's not necessarily increasing his language by leaps and bounds, but his understanding of our language seems to be improving. I can tell him to go throw something away, go give something to a sibling, turn around (on his bike), etc. So it makes the days easier and the fun take precedence.
This is not to say there aren't some struggles throughout the day. For example, if I could snap my fingers and get him to completely understand a few things, they would be:
1. This diaper change IS going to happen.
2. Hanging on my legs while whining d/t hunger actually works against the food getting to the table process.
3. Your nails hurt. Don't clench my face.
4. There needs to be a limit to the juice, man.
5. I will answer to a simple "Mom?" Your approach ("mom? Mama? mommy? mom? ma?") is a little redundant.
There. If we can get those things straight, we'd be golden.

Your posts always bring a humorous end to my day. Good post.
re: #4.
remember that when he's 3 and you say this to him, he'll ask you "why" approximately 73 times. so it could be worse. just sayin'.
