Today was it. The last time the kids and I get to hang out during the week before the routine of school sets in. Tomorrow we will be off to the bus stop for pick-up at 8:16 a.m. Paige has her outfit laid out (nothing I would pick, but the key was for her to be comfortable with what she was wearing within reason). Her lunch is packed (tortilla wrap, yogurt, milk, nectarines, a couple chips and a love note from mom) and her backpack is stuffed and ready by the door.
But before we get talkin' school, here is a picture of how we spent the afternoon on this "last day."

Cole was just wearing regular clothes after waking up from his nap, but came to me lifting his shirt up so as to tell me to take it off (to be more like Will). Total cuteness.

ok...I'll be SO curious to hear how much Paige eats for lunch. We're struggling here...for the first few days, so much food came home. The last couple have been a little better, but they literally have 20 minutes max of lunch time (and that's if they get in there and seated without any glitches). Throw in a talkative, easily-distracted, slow-eating kid (Luke, not Paige!) and you have a recipe for disaster.
Currently, he'll eat about a half of a sandwich, some fruit, a couple of chips or pretzels and half his thermos of milk (which does a freakishly good job of keeping his milk cold for HOURS...like after school it's still ice cold).
I totally know the feeling. I cried for a week before taking Evelyn to daycare for the first time. Every night I nursed her I cried thinking, "This could be the last time." I was afraid she'd get addicted to the bottle. But now that we're away from each other all day, it's not so bad. Probably different for you-your little clan has been seperated. Hang in there, Kar.
Oh, and I still put notes in Jareds lunch, too.
So sweet, Kar. I always put little love notes in Rol's lunches too. If I skipped one, he would call to see if something was wrong! It's fun just to know that Paige is so looking forward to starting school. Wait until Will starts and it's just you and your little buddy at home. YIKES!
