We decided to rate our rides on a scale of 6 flags (original, I know). Apparently this started while in the driveway of my parents' house as the crew was waiting for me to drop off Cole. Will rated waiting for mom..."1 flag...no fun." Paige rated Logger's Run Sixty hundred million flags, and the Whizzer roller coaster 6 flags (with a shaky voice). We rarely even waited in lines that many of us reminisced waiting in for 45 minutes per ride! We only stopped the action briefly to grab a bite of amusement park food that was served in portions large enough to make a small country overweight. We had a blast!
The ONLY bummer was bad traffic on the way home and some nasty weather (that was nice enough to wait until we got in the car). OUR kicker was that our DVD player in the van apparenlty broke so the kids had no entertainment while sitting in traffic. However, 5 minutes ago my trusty husband just went outside to take a look and fixed it....BY ACTUALLY PUTTING IN THE DVD!!! Yes, I have guilt about this and only say this knowing that NO ONE will make fun of me for it! :) I could swear I had slipped Ratatouille into the player and that it simply wasn't reading it...so sure that I never double-checked. Ooops! Well, nevermind that...here are some pictures!
The orange hat is Rich with Will, then Shawn and Paige, then Sarah and Riley on the kid coaster which was quite fun! The Whizzer is a step up from this one.
Here are the 3 kids (and giant me) on a giant drop ride that ticklish Will got quite the kick out of!
Riding the train to the other side of the park!

fun!
i would have liked to have seen a picture of the sixty hundred million flag ride. that one has to be good.
What a blast! When I first started reading this, I thought "Oh, no...what terrible weather for a Six Flags day!" I'm so glad the weather waited, because BOY did it get crappy quickly!
And just so you feel better...I had a similar experience with my CD player in my car. I was convinced there was a disc stuck in there because I "specifically remembered" putting one in, so my Dad and I poked and prodded around and he said "I don't think there's anything in there, Laurie." Sure enough, tried sticking a disc in there...and it played right away.
Yeah...
And speaking of silly things, this all reminds me of a panicky phone call I made to a certain daughter telling her the battery in the remote for my car had died and I was locked out of my car!! Of course, being the very wise daughter that she is, she very calmly said "Ummm, Mom...why don't you use your key?" Oops!!
What a fun day! We live 20 minutes from 6 Flags and have never taken the kids...it just never sounds like fun. But now that I've seen these pictures it does!
Paige looks SO OLD in that last pic!
What a blast!!!! I can't wait to see you guys tomorrow and hear all about it!
Next year Steve and I are SO taking days off to go with - we'll go again in august right before kids go back so school so hopefully it's dead again :)
cute pictures :] I have to tell you, Paige told me all about this beforehand and said she was going "if the weather cooperated" a Paigeism for sure, complete with an impressive vocab word!
