If you ask people in this household how the first day of 1st grade was for Paige, you would probably get different answers. Here is how they would go:
PAIGE: Great! Her teacher is nice. They can earn parties in the class with good behavior. She loves the group she sits with in class. Lunch was cool - (Did you get my note? Mom, like, pretty much everyone had a note in their lunch.) And the day seemed to go by fast. The only complaint was that she thought she was going to get to walk home alone like a big girl from the bus stop (that I was waiting at for her for 40 minutes) when she got home. Yeah, well, it's too far for a six-year old and I'm talking to transportation about that.
WILL: Would probably think it was cool that he got to be the sole big sib to Cole all day. But then come late afternoon something hit about the day that was different and was suddenly an emotional wreck with an increased clingy-ness to mom.
COLE: Thought something was probably different, so decided not to take an afternoon nap and mid-protest climbed out of his crib (without incident) for the first time and decided to GO GET mom.
MOM: Misses Paige immensely and wonders if all day school is really even necessary. :) Got nothing done due to unusual behavior from 2 previous entries and can't believe it starts over tomorrow! Is proud, excited, and thankful for her happy-go-lucky school goer.
DAD: Probably should have just taken the day off because called a million times to "check up." :)

OMG - she looks 10 in this pic!! I have such mixed emotions for you as well!! I just can't get the picture of her in her smiley back-pack out of my head when she was 1! This is a big change, like bringing home a new baby, etc, I'm sure the boys will adjust quickly....they are acting like you WANT to but kids don't have that filter yet that tells us it's inappropriate!!
i'm glad she had a good first day!
Oh my goodness! Paige looks fabulous for her first day of school.
I am totally dreading this day. I've cried thinking of it-remember my first blog? I totally sympathize. Must be tough.
she looks so cute! glad the first day went well for her, at least! :) it took a couple of days for the younger boys to adjust, so plan on a few days of awkwardness...
