So I have a couple coined phrases to share. One I remembered this evening. We have a town-wide festival coming up this weekend that the kids FREAK out about and cannot wait for. Tonight Will asked me how many more minutes until Prairie Frest. Since I can't do quick math I explained to him what WE used to do when we were counting down to something. I taught how to count sleeps. Now it's a workable number. Two more sleeps until Prairie Fest.
My other phrase was coined by my brother-in-law. Tonight on a very rare occasion, Cole wanted nothing to do with going to bed. (He does have a runny nose and so may be coming down with something which concerns me for the whole Prairie Fest event). So, I decided to *reboot* him. I loved this phrase when I first heard it because it makes perfect sense. Instead of trying to lull him to sleep and stay in his room, just let him come out, burn off a little steam and start the going-to-bed process over in a bit. It has worked twice before flawlessly. Tonight (as he climbs on top of the playroom table as I type this...hmmm) I'm not sure what the results will be.

i love "reboot!" it's perfect! it's worked for jack henry before, too. hope cole's sleeping by now...
and you know, we count sleeps because of you. we also sing a certain bathtub song because of you. hey, there's your next post idea.
Good one! I'll have to keep this in mind for when Evelyn is a ball of energy like Cole.
Hey, I didn't even leave a comment and you deleted it! :)
