So today Rich and I celebrated being married to each other for eight years. I wrote in his card and feel strongly that with the past 8 years flying by so fast, a lifetime is beginning to seem like it might not be long enough. And it's true.
While I usually reserve my posts for all things kids, I think it is important to mark this occasion because IT is why we have those 3 little characters. They can't quite fathom that there was ever a time when mom and dad actually didn't even know each other (let alone were NOT MARRIED to each other), are not completely content unless we are both home and all together and they are keenly aware of when we may be having a disagreement (which is rare - which only capitalizes on there awareness).
I feel our marriage can be split into different chapters:
1. Newlyweds
2. First kid + still newlyweds
3. The move
4. Child #2
5. Rich's cancer treatment
6. Child #3 plus health issues
7. Now...with health being in check for all members of the family it is starting to prove to be a more relaxing chapter with more experiences and fun.
I remember wondering through a couple chapters just how it might change us or our relationship or the life we had been picturing, but the truth is that we always seem to circle back around to "the good life," as I call it. For me, that's not fancy cars and expensive nights out. It's family road trips, fun family evenings and just a plain healthy, happy family. I'd like to think that as the chapters of our life together become more intense or perhaps trying that our desire to live this good life directs us right back to it.
