Our Pseudo-Outing

Wednesday, March 25, 2009
So today Rich had taken off work so that we could do an outing with the kids since it is Paige's spring break. We were going to go to the Shedd Aquarium. The kids had never been and I was SURE they would freak out about the marine life there that they had never seen. However, due to Cole's reaction yesterday, we didn't think we should travel very far from home. This was a good decision, as he has had some respiratory issues today and we continue with treatments. I may have kicked and screamed a bit about this, though, because the aquarium was always my favorite place. But I got over it, you know, because I'm a grown-up.

So, we went to a hands-on science museum very close to home that we had never been to before. The kids really enjoyed being able to just walk around a touch and do anything they wanted. Here are some pictures:
I failed to mention they all got eaten by T Rex - so unfortunate.

A cool simulated tornado

This is an "experiment" we've done at home where you have to guess the smell. Will spent a long time here!

Learning about electrical currents...or just looking at the cool colors touching their hands.

I wanna play "Guess the Smell"!!! That looks like fun and I can't wait until my grandmonkey is old enough to do stuff like that. She will be among the most cultured 4 year olds EVER. :)
