Happy Columbus Day

Thanks to Christopher Columbus, Paige had off school today and Rich decided to take the day off, too. We thought this would be a great day to take advantage of the various pumpkin farms near us. We decided to try someplace new (Dollinger Farms in Chanahan). It was free with a lot of kids attractions, food, and pumpkins. Since we got there right at lunchtime we decided to eat first. The fall picnic wasn't such a good idea because of the population of bees and flies (picture Alfred Hitchcock's Birds only with bees and flies). I don't exaggerate...ever. Since Paige already has an unexplanable fear of bees, she ate her lunch standing such that she could dart away at a moment's notice. Finally we sent her & Will over to look at animals when all of the sudden we heard her blood curdling scream. Yup - stung by a bee on the finger. We got the stinger out and put a cold can of pop on it and a bandaid, but the outing was ruined for her and, therefore, us. I'm sure you'll hear about it on the news - she put out a press release and she will pass out flyers tomorrow at school alerting everyone that she was indeed stung by a bee. And here is a picture of Cole enjoying his bath tonight. He also tried a sippy cup and didn't get much, but enjoyed rubbing his tooth on the rubber spout. (For those I mentioned it to, he DOESN'T have a top tooth; I was hallucinating. However, his second bottom tooth is SO going to be through by tomorrow!)
