Happy Birthday to Paige

Thursday, December 23, 2010
Eight years ago at this time I was in labor.  At 3:43 am the next morning, Paige Michelle was born weighing 6 lbs 13 oz making it the most amazing Christmas (Eve) I had ever had.

First day home.

They have been the fullest and most wonderful eight years with Paige.  She has always been easily excitable and loves to be around people of all ages and types.  This most recent year has seen Paige reveal her giving spirit and gift of compassion more than ever.  It is exciting to watch her character deepen.  She has learned to make decisions with wise thought, instead of compulsive choices.  And she has become better at expressing her feelings and gratitude.

Age 2

Almost 5

So many people, when hearing that Paige's birth occurred so close to Christmas, would instantly offer sympathy or pity.   This has never been an issue for Paige.  In fact, at school each member of the class writes a note to the birthday child that is prompted with questions.  Almost half wrote that they think it's neat that Paige's birthday is on Chrsitmas Eve.  She told me everyone was jealous she has her birthday on such a cool day.  I'm well aware that this opinion may change, but at least for 8 years now, it hasn't even occurred to her to complain about it.  She loves the season and this just adds to the enjoyment.  I will work as hard as I can to let her know how she was our best Christmas gift ever.

Almost 8

Ok, I'm crying! I can't believe how fast kids grow. She is so beautiful and that picture of her when she's 2 is so cute I can't stand it. Happy Birthday Paige.

p.s...I wanted to let you know that I love reading your blog! I check it at least once a week to hear the stories about your 3 little ones as well as your stories about how they're growing up or things you've learned as a mom.

Very good stuff and definitely something I am inspired by! Keep up the great work. You are a very good mother and Paige, Will and Cole are very lucky to have you :)
