Dial Down the Drama

Tomorrow can be a more boring day, as far as I'm concerned.  I feel like we're still settling into this school thing and I'm kind of awaiting the boring answer "fine" when I ask how school was today.

Paige came home with some friend drama yesterday and Will was almost in tears because the bus ride home seemed to be taking too long I was roughly 4 ft off my mark for where I should be waiting for the bus, apparently.  Today, Paige came home and had been reprimanded (a warning) for being chatty (grrrrr) and I got an e-mail from Will's teacher that he had cried at school because he missed home.

This is AFTER Cole and I had been playing outside and I ran in the house only to find the entire 1st floor covered in white smoke that smelled odd.  After frantically rushing around to find the source, I called 911. Yea me.  Firetrucks at my house again.  Only, I didn't get the memo that they were "smoking out the sewer system" today, Mr. Sewer Guy (which I've never even heard of) and by the way - even if I DID, a house filled with smoke still raises a bit of a red flag!

So, things are calm now.  Paige has had chatty warnings at the first of the year for 3 years in a row now.  If history repeats, the rest of the year should be pretty quiet.  Will DOES love school, just not the fact that it's not held at home.  He assures Rich and I that he "just needs to get used to it."  Bless his heart.  And the firefighters were VERY nice - and Cole got a personal invitation to their Open House.  So...the day wasn't a total loss!

oh karen - the fire thing cracks me up!! That's nuts! I don't blame you - who has time to stop and think about what else could be causing their house to be full of smoke!!

I love Will's attitude - poor guy.

Are you kidding me with the smoke? I would totally have done the same thing. At least Cole got an invite to the open house!
