Rich had taken a couple days off last week and we overnighted at my sister's house where she and her husband are putting on a new deck - with all the help they can get. After many meals, countless pitchers of fluids and countless loads of laundry, here is what they got:
Then we had a super fun birthday party where the whole fam was invited and that looked like this:
And the rest of the weekend has been filled with bathroom remodel - not picture worthy.
Which brings to the topic of long-term projects and kids. They don't mix well. I actually had a woman at the paint store ask me when I was expecting to strip wallpaper as she saw my 3 little ones curiously stealing pondering paint swatches. One word: bedtime. But I've tried to accomplish some remodel steps without it HAVING to be bedtime and it's just not what it used to be. I remember Rich and I (gasp) skipping meals for the sake of getting the job done. Now you have a juice request that turns into 3 and the discovery of a stink bomb in someone's pants and when it's all said and done, you barely remember where you were in your job, much less have the gumption to go finish it. It's no wonder this is just now getting done...and I don't have any other remodels on the horizon.
Tomorrow brings ACTUAL color on the walls, another day off for Rich, and the start of swimming lessons.

i would actually like to see pics of a bathroom remodel. make sure you take pics after it's done.

That is an awesome deck! I totally agree, isn't one ill-timed stink bomb just an efficiency killer?!
