Okay, I admit it. It was a countdown 'til bedtime type of day. Not horrible, but not what I'd call harmonious either. So here are some more fun tidbits...

  • This weekend we redeemed awesome Christmas gift cards from my aunt for all the kids to go to Build-A-Bear. They were PUMPED and had a great time choosing their new friend!

Here the kids wait patiently in what was by far the busiest our mall has EVER been that I have seen.

Finished products!

And the attempt to show them out of the box. Little chaotic but you get the point.

  • I may very well have a parent's dream child. One who will put himself in a time-out. This morning at breakfast Cole was not getting the point that he would not be getting more orange juice. I finally had to raise my voice a bit and he got down from the table and next thing I know he was sitting in the chair we use for time-outs. He has never had one, but has seen this occur with the older sibs. So, I'm guessing in his head is this equation: ornery child + yelling mom = go sit in time out chair. Works for me! :)

That doesn't sound like a terrible day at all! A self-punishing child? What more could you want! I'm lovin Cole's personality. He's one of us.

seriously, i think jack henry and cole were twins separated at birth...he does the SAME thing! the first time i told him he needed to be in timeout, he just marched himself to his room! and now, when he misbehaves, sometimes he goes in there by himself, shuts the door (and sits on the edge of his bed - i've peeked), and then yells "i yeady!" and comes out, ready to obey. it's the craziest thing. but i'll take it!

wednesday will be here soon, my dear, and your normal routine will return :)

I love Build a Bear! They all got some awesome stuff...diggin the unicorn! Self-imposed time outs? Quite impressive! Don't you hope they stay that sweet? Brady is the only one who says "ok mama" when I tell him "no"
