Imagination At Work

Thursday, January 21, 2010
I've been wanting to do a post lately about how Will's imagination simply has no boundries. He loves to think of things to "make" and then do them...exactly according to the vivid picture in his mind. Granted, it leaves a flurry of paper clippings around the house and I'm now finding empty toilet paper rolls stuffed in drawers for use in future "projects," but I would not dare do anything to squelch this special ability he has. Here are some examples:

This is a wooden man that Will drew on paper. The arms swivel, but not in a complete circle, thanks to the cheeks that stick out to stop them - all his idea. Thanks to help from grandpa and his workshop, Will was able to materialize this "invention."

This is a heart mobile for Vday that we actually found on the internet. When Will saw that the paper plate was going to make a "whirly twirly" he was in. Only he wasn't impressed with the puny hearts they used, and wanted me to draw bigger ones for him to cut out. I think it turned out great!
It is so amazing to see the things that come from him.

What a creative little monster. Love the mobile! Can he make one to hang over Evelyn's crib, please?

I love and am way jealous of his gift!! mom told me he had "blueprints" for that wooden man. Let's just hope he doesn't get an image in his head that we just can't make! Won't we feel silly!
