Excitement, Continued

Monday, December 7, 2009
This morning I will call it the first official snow.  There was a beautiful 1-2 inch blanket of white powder perfectly settled on every rooftop and tree branch.  Granted, I will be done with this excitement come late January, but you can't help but have the small gasp of excitment when you look out the window in the morning and see a suddenly white world.

Knowing Will was awake, I went into his room and opened his blinds.  His face lit up.  Priceless.  Of course, his first thought was to show Paige.  I informed him that Paige was still sleeping, but he can be the one to show her.  TO BE PERFECTLY CLEAR (in case he didn't grasp the idea that she was indeed still sleeping) I reminded him to be quiet until she wakes up.

About 2 minutes later Paige walked in my room.  I told her Will had something to show her.  She stated in a not-so-enthusiastic tone, "I know, he woke me up to show me."  Nice.  While I love the excitement, I'm not so crazy about the getting-in-the-way-of-good-judgement aspect of it all.

And tonight Paige worked on a letter to Santa...

Dear Santa, All I want for Christmas is happiness and joy!  P.S.  I hope you like our cookies we leave out for you.  Well I don't exactly know how to say this, but I really want to see you, but I am always asleep.  Sincerely, Paige

Well it sure looks like Paige is understanding the true meaning of Christmas (thanks to your awesome parenting skills!)
My boys were SO excited about snow...they just seem to think that it's a buffet outside and the snow is for eating...gross!
