I'm not even really that sick. Just a little achey - but I've nearly completely lost my voice. This really makes you realize how much a mom of 3 young kids needs to talk throughout the day. And I wouldn't say that the kids are overly comfortable with the situation.
Will on the way to school: Mom - maybe you should try to say "ahem."
Paige while we're talking after school: Have you tried coughing to see if you voice comes back?
Paige after agreeing that she'd be okay if I read her a book in a whisper voice: Why don't you trying clearing your throat to see if that helps.
It's just not the same when mom's not 100%. I was reminded of this sentiment when reading a "Ramona" book with Paige recently. When kids are quite young, they tend to think of moms & dads as invincible and not susceptible to pain/illness. I remember having that feeling, and knowing that my kids may have that same feeling of me is just so surreal.

feel better soon (and get your voice back).
Feel better Karie. Try not to talk in a whisper. For some reason, I'm told, that's harder on your vocal chords than just trying to speak normally.
Kar - you may not be invincible but you are pretty incredible! I hope you feel better - and even if you have to slow down and take some time for yourself....those 3 kiddos will always see you as their hero!
Feel better, mamasita!
That's still very true for me. When I call my Mom or go visit her, and she's sick, I kind of feel like I am too. It's scary seeing someone who's a superhero in your mind, suffering. :(
