William the Pest

We are just finishing "Ramona the Pest" so this title seemed fitting. He really isn't one, but this story relates.

Today after school Paige got to have a friend over for a little bit - MUCH to her excitement. She had been banned from this possibility lately due to her behavior (picture 13-year old attitude on a 6-year old). She has definitely turned a corner, though, and today was a great day for a reward.

Will was greatly intrigued by the two girls who gathered in Paige's room doing makeovers. I could hear that perhaps his presence wasn't desired so I reminded him that he had an entire day with a friend yesterday and Paige and her friend are going to have some alone time. Somehow, though, they worked out a deal among themselves where Will was their "messenger." I believe that was code for servant. He was fetching snacks, markers of their color choice, toys and glue sticks. The outsider would have felt sorry for this poor overworked boy, but his facial expressions would prove otherwise. He was all smiles and was either running or jumping (while waiting for me to prepare the snack) the whole time anxious to go knock on the door and say "messenger" again. I LOVE seeing the changes in these interactions and can't wait to look back and read this.

On another note, as I was scrubbing Cole's face in the bath, I was wanting to know what Rose Art's definition of "washable" is. Ooooooh, I see, washable with paint thinner. Got it. (Since nothing harsh can be used on his skin, I tried a little baby oil which did help, fyi.)
