Sometimes it can be REEEALLY tempting to get frustrated when Will is trying to get a thought out. Some phrases I find my self wanting to blurt out include, "Spit it out, already!" "Cut to the chase!" or just plain, "This is going to have to wait." Instead, I've become pretty used to it. Here's an example:

Will comes to the banister during quiet time:
Mom? Um (lick lips)...My um (deep breath, little dance on his feet) treasure box um thing you know? (moves his hands in the shape of treasure box) has a um....has a circle thing that's connected on one side but not on the other (moves hands in circular motion). And so, I'm not...going to touch it so you can....can you squirt some of that, you know, really hot glue on it again?

Me: Yes.
Okay! (running back to his room)

Oh the agony!

Then today at the start of quiet time we did a "Hidden Pictures" from Highlights magazine. We were looking for a bunch of grapes and he was searching the page with his finger while repeating "grapes grapes grapes grapes grapes" and then said "I have to -grapes- say that so I can -grapes- remember what I'm -grapes- looking for." Seriously, it cracked me up.

Ahhh - Logan is exactly the same way with the "thought extraction from brain"! Oh! I saw something today that made me think of Will. It's a drawing board from Crayola that (from the description) looks like it makes noises/plays sounds while you draw. It reminded me of his humming. :)

I hope Evelyn is half as humorous as Will.
