Halloween Obsession

Monday, October 19, 2009
Just because I haven't blogged about Will's obsession with Halloween doesn't mean it has died down....at all. Today he has been busy with some Halloween goodies from G & G Kelly. We went to Target and he made me read every Halloween sign hanging from the ceiling. (Have you ever counted how many there are?) We made a fall art project, because in Will's head fall = Halloween.

Then the kicker was tonight. We were making modifications to Paige's bed and Rich needed a flashlight. The kids' flashlights look like little lanterns, so he said, "Could one of you guys get me your lantern?" Will: "What? You need a jack 'o lantern?"

In other news, though sometimes I definitely can get annoyed by the mundane-ness of daily life that goes something like: feed kids, clean up food, pick up, laundry, feed, clean, pick up...etc., today I was reminded why we made this choice (for me to stay home). Paige's school nurse called to say that Paige was just feeling crummy and it would probably be best for her to be home. I was already on the road and there in 10 minutes. There were no appointments to cancel, meetings to reschedule, or daycare provider to line up. I am truly grateful for this.

Awe - I hope Paige doesn't get something too bad. I'm so happy you can stay home too!! Remember that ease of knowing mom could come get us, drive us in late, bring our volleyball kneepads, etc - and I kinda liked being home sick alone with her - watching All My Children!!
