So, as I mentioned, I'm solo parenting this week, which is new to me. I have to say, the kids have been very well behaved and aside from the "busy-ness" that comes from having 3 little ones, it has gone very smoothly. Tonight, though, there was a pretty long to-do list before bed time and little glitches made it longer:
1. Welcome Paige off the bus at 4 p.m.
2. Paige does 2 math homework worksheets (more on homework later)
3. Bathe the boys
4. I prepare dinner
5. Eat dinner
6. Paige showers (little assisting still needed)
7. All kids give me a make-over with my makeup
8. Help Paige do "lightning word" homework and spelling words
9. Watch a bit of a show with a drink before bed
10. Brush teeth and "no nap today Cole" goes down for bed
11. Will, Paige and I congregate in my bed for reading time - Paige reads her "baggy books" for homework, I read a book to both
12. Tucked in bed, Paige realizes that book scared her, so I read more of her "Ramona" book to her to get something else in her head
13. Will pops in and tells me he made a cool clock in school and to look in his back pack....and can he stay and listen to Ramona?
14. Finished reading - both kids want a drink of water before bed.
15. Cole starts crying (VERY rare) - go in there with a little drink and a cuddle - back in bed
16. Once I'm downstairs, Will comes out and states that he had "a little piece of a dream" that was scary. Give him his clock from his back pack to look at and send him back to bed
17. Will is out again wanting to "be with me" and I get him a drink and leave his door open so he can hear me.
18. Decide alone time is over-rated.
