1. Many times after bath, if I go to get something for Will and tell him I'll be right back, he often follows me and puts his hands in my back pockets and I'm left to return wondering where in the world he has gone in such a short period of time. Then, of course, I must tour the whole upstairs (with him at my heels) searching for that "troublesome boy" and ignoring the giggles behind my back. Tonight when I finally "caught" him, he got serious as can be and asked, "did you really not know I was behind you?" - Reminding me just how young he still is. :)
2. Will and I were reading a "Wild Animal Baby" book before bed and there was a section on porcupines. We talked about how the quills would hurt if you touch them. First he stated, "Why did life make porcupines?" Followed by a more profound, "Why did Jesus make bad things?" I'd take suggestions for a good answer for that one.
3. Paige came out of bed this evening and said that Will came in her room with his flashlight and woke her up (true - she fell asleep fast) to show her 2 ladybugs in a jar he caught today and tell her that one pooped on his hand. I had to remain serious and let her know that I'll tell him tomorrow that such important news has to wait until morning if Paige is already asleep.

Will is just endless amounts of entertainment! You're such a good mommy to play along with his games!! I sure wish I could help you answer #2. Today the kids wanted to know if Santa makes toys or buys them because how come all the toys you get are in the store too. I changed the topic....
Um, first let me say that ladybug poop is serious business. I respectfully disagree that that news can wait until morning. I should like to SEE the ladybug poop if such a thing is visible to the human eye. Please ask him to save it.
Will's question in #2 is a question I have asked myself many times...and I'm still not sure of the answer.
As to #1, he is just too good at "hiding". Kare...is your butt, like, dead?? You can't feel a WHOLE WILL back there? Really?
I knew I was going to love this post, based on the title. I absolutely love the ladybug story -seriously - *hilarious*. I get MANY similar questions as your #2 story, but mostly now about "why did God make some people bad?" Deep thoughts for our little 4 year olds. I tell Caleb that God did not make people bad, but they are bad b/c of the choices they make...and that we can pray for them to be good. When he asks about things like.. why God would make bees sting and hurt us...I say God is helping the bee protect itself, which is good b/c we need bees. I'd use the same for porcupines though I have no idea why God made them. ;)
i love the #1 story. that's a classic.
