He Knows His Nose

Wednesday, August 5, 2009
Cole has, for a while, been able to point out his (or someone else's) nose when asked. Lately, though, he also knows that his nose is quite a funny thing. Even better - it gets big laughs from the big sibs. Here is an example:

We were singing "Wheels on the bus" while sitting around the table and when we got to the mommies saying "Shh..shh...shhh," Cole's finger went from his lips up into his nose. Of course, the audience was hysterical. The kicker was that then he took his finger out and it had...well...nose matter on it. This cause a mild hysteria as I tried to clean his finger off and gain control of the situation.

I don't have much hope for the teaching-manners-and-good-hygiene goal of child rearing for him with those two egging him on.

do they laugh at him when he passes gas, too? because i think that jack henry is going to the worst about this of all of them, due to the encouragement he receives from his brothers when it happens. ugh.

Bodily functions are universally hilarious. Beth and I still laugh hysterically at...well...gas. Hysterically. Like 6 year olds. Mike gets totally disgusted, which makes us laugh even harder. :)

Don't worry, Kar. Sadly enough, Lauren already thinks it's funny when she has gas. That most definitely comes from her Daddy and his two younger brothers!! Like Laurie said, bodily functions are always hysterical, especially to the male gender!!!! About all you can do is let him know it's not considered socially acceptable behavior outside the home...which will undoubtedly make his sibs laugh even harder!! :-)

Oh, it's totally acceptable behavior. He just has to find like-minded friends!! :)
