Tonight was Paige's first horseback riding class and it's safe to say that she is hooked. It was a very neat experience for her. This session is 4 hour-long classes and today they learned to saddle, brush, lead, mount, steer and stop and "go" a horse. By the end she was leading her horse with no trainer around an obstacle! It was awesome!

The class guide had said to wear a heeled shoe. Those are hard to find this time of year (I'm thinking a boot of some sort). She wore tennis shoes which weren't going to cut it, but they had pairs there to wear. So she put on her first pair of cowboy boots and asked me tonight at 8:30pm if I thought maybe I should run to a store to look for a pair for her. Um...no. But she also asked a trainer if they get to keep the horses for the duration of the class (like, take it home). So she is slightly delusional overall. Other evidence is when I told her how surprised I was that she was able to do that stuff on the first day so easily and she replied, "Yea, but I pretty much already knew how to do that anyway." Hmmm...apparently got some horse experience I'm not aware of.

I'm so proud of her - there is no feeling like being on a horse - how cool!! And the swim lessons.....?? Were they not blogged about for a reason?

Oh, that is the cutest picture I've ever seen! How adorable! Looks like she was born to be our little equestrian! I can't wait to talk to her about it. Oh yes, and the swimming lesson?? Slightly less enthusiastic?

LOL at the "delusional" angle...so funny! Good luck finding boots!

Funny! Where is she doing her lessons at? Looks like a nice place. Olivia is wanting to do that, but most places only take older kids.

What a fun new hobby for her. Cute pics. I had a horse when I was that age...but he was imaginary, lived under my bed and I never got to ride him. His name was Thursday. :)
