FUN DAY
Friday we (me and the kids) visited an arboretum about 45 minutes from here that, despite growing up here, I have never been to. We spent all of our time in just one section (the children's one, of course) and totally enjoyed the weather on this the first day of summer break for Paige.
I don't have that many pictures because I was a bit busy with Cole, the wannabe big kid who can't yet walk without dragging your index fingers along with him as you are hunched over with your back in the I'm-gonna-feel-this-later position.
Picnic lunch when we first arrived

One of many fun little houses/structures. Notice Cole - reaching for my index fingers!!!
Catching tadpoles. Okay, they didn't really catch one. An older boy did and let them hold it. It was, "like, totally cool."

INJURIES

Though minor, we have had many bumps and bruises lately. Cole fell and hit the stone fireplace hearth (for the record - on Rich's watch) and split his lip open and scraped his forehead a bit. Then he rode his little big wheel bike on the driveway with bare feet until both big toes were bloody. I'm quite sure this is just the beginning.

Will was getting into his carseat and apparently majorly bumped his head on a part of his carseat. He has a bump that feels like the ones you see on "Tom & Jerry." To console him, I said "I'm sorry. I don't even know what that part is for on your carseat." He astutely replied, "I think it's so you know that's NOT where you put your head!"

Oh, don't you feel SO horrible when they hurt themselves? Too bad Will didn't see that dumb part BEFORE he hit his head!! He knows better now, I bet. Live and learn.

Poor Cole! I love the qualifier that it was "on Rich's watch". So funny!! I'm sure he's very proud. :) The Arboretum sounds fun - was it Morton? That was one of Jim and Susan's favorite places - especially this time of year. The snowmound candytuft is in full bloom! :)

I'm so excited that you made it to the Arboretum!! Isn't it great (save for the fact that it's hard to keep track of 3 kids with all the fun stuff to see and do)? :)
