Today after Paige left for school, the boys and I were going to run a couple errands - one of which was to go to the bank. I had my banking filled out and on the kitchen table and had told Will to get his shoes on. When I came back downstairs, his shoes were nowhere in sight and my banking was crumpled up on the table. I was livid. I truly think he should know that those were important papers that do not get touched. I asked him if he did it and he said yes. I, of course, told him that that was very naughty and told him to get his shoes on. Instead of lecturing until no end, I just kept to myself from then until we got to our first destination. He knew I was
disappointed. Our ride was very silent. So when I went to unbuckle him, I said, "You know, I was very
disappointed about what you did to my important papers. What do you think you could say to me about that?" Will said, "Um, sorry?" I said thank you, but then he continued, "It's just that I thought those were Paige's papers because they were at her spot on the table."

OH NO!!! This has to be the funniest "serious" post ever! Ya gotta admit.
ha! b/c it would be ok to crumple paige's papers.
He's really challenging you lately, isn't he? It's so interesting when they start testing their boundaries. You know they don't know any better and you want to help them understand, but then you feel like you are constantly harping and correcting. Much like every other aspect of parenting, it's all about finding the balance! That should be no problem for you guys -you're the most balanced people I have ever known!
