- Cole is having trouble with his breathing due to a cold. There have been breathing treatments and other medications given with little improvement. This made the following items see doubly bad.
- Cole puked all over me, him and the rug we were standing on just minutes before Paige's bus was supposed to be here.
- Paige proceeds to tie the straps hanging from her backpack in a super knot around her waist resulting in her being stuck in her backpack. With the bus coming in 2.2 seconds, I had no time to work on the knot and so was forced to cut her free with scissors!
- We went on a walk for some fresh air for Cole, only Will's chain came off his bike (thankfully pretty close to home) so I had to walk the jogger stroller, 2 dogs and a bike home!
- Just as Will and I were going to have some bonding time, he wips out his rug that has a road system on it and it rakes across my eye which did not shut in time. Five minutes later I was able to open my eye quite certain I would see an empty socket. Thankfully, just a little bloodshot.
So, I would chalk up a big "L" for me for the day until this moment...
I was bathing the kids while Rich went to get an antibiotic for Cole' ear infection. I was frustrated from hearing him struggle to breathe all day. I started to explain to Paige that I was sorry I am no fun when Cole is sick; it's just that I worry about him. But as I began the words Paige stated, "You don't have to say it, Mom, I know." It was the most mature, profound statement I've heard her say and it's what makes parenting so unique. One great sentence can undo a whole day of bad.

poor cole, he can't catch a break w/ his breathing problems, can he? hopefully tomorrow will be better.
Sweet Paige!! I hope tomorrow is better for you.
You've got some great kids, Kare. I'm glad you are able to find the silver lining in that kind of cloudy day. It helps when you have a kind-hearted, understanding daughter, doesn't it? Bless her sweet little heart. I hope Cole is feeling better for his party. Lauren is cutting some teeth and is leaking from every possible place in her head. Poor thing. Last night she bonked her head and as I was leaving, I noticed an angry-looking purpleish bruise forming. She still managed to muster a smile and wave and kiss me goodbye. The resilience of children never ceases to amaze!
