When was school invented?

Thursday, March 5, 2009
The past 2 nights Paige has been reading to us out of a book she can read completely by herself (The World of Dick and Jane - thanks, Auntie Bon!) which is so exciting to her and us. Tonight after reading, Rich said, "You know, Paige, when I was your age, I couldn't read yet." Paige replies, "Is that because there wasn't any school yet?"

Yes, Paige, when your dad was six school was yet to be invented. Even the kind with stone tablets, pour soul.

...'cause that's when people still powered (and braked!) their cars with their feet, had dinosaurs for pets and lived in Bedrock! Ha! Too funny, Paige! I do like the fact that she is making the evolution connection, though!

You're very welcome! I loved the Dick, Jane and Sally books when I was little too! Just goes to show you can't go wrong with books for kids!! Makes me very happy!!

This one made me flat-out laugh out loud! How innocently adorable! And humbling.
