Fun Tidbits

So tonight the kids decided it would be fun to do our show-time (before bed ritual of watching a little bit of a show) in their sleeping bags. So, I told Will, "Go pick up a toy and then you can go get your sleeping bag." He responds, "Actually, I don't sleep with toys." Me: "Bud, I mean clean up a toy, then go get your sleeping bag!"

Recently, after we do our reading routine at night, I can hear quite a ruckus of footsteps in Will's room just above the office/playroom. It has never been a big deal. He keeps to himself and always gets to bed in a timely manner. Tonight, though, I noticed his big ceiling light go on before I even made it downstairs. So, I open his door and find his desk moved to his dresser with him on top, rummaging through his top dresser drawer. Without skipping a beat he nervously states, "Sorry, mom, I was - uh - looking for you." I lost it. He wrinkled his nose and smiled as if to fully realize how NOT believable it was that he would be looking for me in his top dresser drawer! We had a laughing moment (and I was beckoned to Paige's room to dish the scoop to her) and I tucked him into bed...for real this time. Gotta give him points for trying to think on his toes.

That kid's gonna charm all his teachers--and the girls--and his friends' parents--and . . . everybody!

Okay - so I brought home some sports for downstairs tomorrow: soft footballs and others with orange cones to set up for goals! Also, I brought our parachute - ya know the kind you all hold on to and then sit down under it! Can't wait for tomorrow :)
