Energy Crisis

Wednesday, February 11, 2009
Despite the nice weather and outside play yesterday, we still seem to have some energy to burn around here (I type as I hear little footsteps above my head that should be sleeping). Here is our list of energy burning activities to share with you, hoping you'll return the favor:
1) Dancing - all types, anywhere in the house - helps if the music rocks and you have the dance videos on the TV to increase the repotoire of dance moves.
2) Jumping off ottoman onto gymnastic mat in cool, tricked-out ways
3) Two words: flag tag. Stick a little towel or flag per kid in your pockets and have them chase you around the house and try to snag their "flag." Warning to watch small animals as they may get trampled.
4) Obstacle courses. Think the TV series Wipeout and use all furniture cushions, pillows, etc.
5) Indoor games such as duck, duck, goose, Cranium Hullaballoo, bowling, golf, etc.
Any suggestions? I'm thinking one of those mechanical bulls might be helpful.

wow - I so wanna come play at your house! Sounds like a blast! It also sounds exhausting - I hope you all had a nice, long nap today :)

Remember when Dad duct taped us to the tree or when we all 3 crammed ourselves in a garbage can (aka pool) - we used tons of energy getting out of those situations!! I'm just saying.....

"...when Dad duct taped us to a tree..."????? Wow - not the perfect family unit I pictured! Please make sure Cole is on top when stuffing your children into the garbage can. He's the youngest, it's only fair. How about one of those On Demand workouts? Kelly says they are great and they seem to have some fun ones.

flag tag will be played here tomorrow! and after we clean up the basement, we'll do an obstacle course. luke doesn't have school so i'll need to fill our day with activities (and it's too cold to be outside again).

your dad is the coolest.

and we should try an on-demand workout! that would be fun, too.
