Here I go - venting about a peeve I have just this once and then I'll be done. Remember the movie Big with Tom Hanks where he gets a job testing toys because he's really a 10 year old boy in a 30 year old body? Well, does that job really not exist at all? I think it should because I could swear some toys just get made and sold without really seeing if it even works. While I have many noteworthy examples, I'll use the most recent.
Both kids BEGGED for Pixos for Christmas. They did the same last year, only the product was called Aqua Dots and after being marketed like crazy they realized there was some substance emitted that was dangerous to animals, small kids and livestock or something. :) So then they fixed that problem and wah-lah - Pixos! You drop these beads in a grid to make pictures, spray with water and wait 10 minutes for the beads to gel together to make a tangible object. Only they should call the game "great lessen in patience" because it takes 10 minutes OR NEVER to dry. Truly. It has been 3 days and they are still a little gel-like. So there's my beef. Where did they get 10 minutes? Did they neglect to say 10 minutes in a huge wind tunnel or something? Did they know it takes much longer, but just wanted to make it seem simple? Well, it's not. Instead they still sit on my kitchen counter - all goopy. Not simple.
And don't even get me started on the princess magical vanity of last year's Christmas!!

so annoying. but i did crack up at your retelling of the situation.
i have a toy rant (included in another post) coming up this week too, when i get it finished.
Hilarious. My girlfriend had a similar rant about Moonsand. Obnoxious, and clearly never tested by anything resembling a human. Also, love the way you phonetically spell..."wah-la". Awesome!!
This comment is entitled "FUN WITH GOOP"...
Hey! If you go to (of all places!) www.pixos.com, they have templates and such that you can (not) use when the kids (don't) play with this again. Aren't I helpful? :-]
amen!
do you remember those things from when i was younger? similar, except you drop the beads on the grid, cover in wax paper, and iron them. they melt and WA LA! picture! maybe they still have them at craft stores. makes for a handy swap.
