Happy 2009!

Friday, January 2, 2009
I hope you all have had a great start to this new year and that 2009 brings much joy! After 6 years of not really celebrating New Years Eve due to children and what to do with them scenarios, we decided to have our own party! (Last one was before kids at our old house pictured here by my friend Nicole in which I do remember doing clean-up duty the next day while my husband hugged the porcelain throne.)

This wasn't quite so rowdy and included a great group of family and friends. The kids had sleeping bags and the movie Wall-E in the basement and we had a mock countdown for them:

Paige had been told that this would be a night that she could stay up as late as she wanted to. For this she was infinitley excited. But as Will zonked out on the couch and other kids left, I knew she would soon fade. Only she didn't. Nope. Instead she played Cranium Hoopla with us and rang in the new year for REAL. That girl's mantra is going to be, "Have party. Will take full advantage!" It was hilarious.

I am so proud of Paige!! Just another sad but exciting reminder of how big she's getting!! Did she nap/get crabby on Thursday?? What a trooper!
