Giving Thanks

Tonight at the dinner table I initiated a time to give thanks as just our small family (before the big feast). I was curious as to what the kids would say and so touched by their responses. Since Paige suggested we start from youngest to oldest, Cole started. We decided he was probably thankful for milk and Cheerios at this point. Then Will eloquently said, "Eberbody in dis family." (He has a stuffy nose). My heart melted. Paige followed, naming each of us individually an adding every room in the house. And Jesus. And the dogs.

And there you have my list of thanks. I'm so thankful for Paige, Will and Cole. How together they are a cool crew and individually they each have characteristics and talents that amaze me everyday. I'm thankful for my husband - how it seems his fathering skills get better everyday; how he's supportive at whatever I feel is important, how he knows what I need, and for his continued good health.

Of course, my list of thanks goes on to include everything from my cozy home and dogs, to my minivan and good friends. So, above all I thank God for this wonderful life I live.
