A Christmas Poem

Saturday, November 29, 2008
'Twas a month before Christmas
And all through our home
Christmas decor went up
And I didn't do it alone
The job was up
To these little elves
To decorate the tree
And put figurines on shelves
When out in the living room
Arose such a clatter
I raced from the kitchen
To see what was the matter
With things so fragile
It would happen, I knew
Nothing that can't be fixed
With a little super glue

The stockings were hung
By the chimney with care

Not ready for five,

Two had to share
When what to my wondering
Eyes would appear
But lights that don't work
Due to this tiny reindeer
The tree - how it shined
The house - what a mess!
And whose job was this?
I'll give you one guess
So to the top of the stairs
To the end of the hall
Now go to sleep, go to sleep
Go to sleep all!
As we put things away
(Which took forever),
I think of Paige's quote -
This is going to be the best Christmas ever!
