I peered into Will's room to let him know that it was okay to come out from "quiet time." His back was to me as he sat at his desk. He turned around and I gasped.
"Did you draw blue marker on your skin?" I asked.
Pause.
"Um, yeah, but I yicked it off a yittle bit, so dat's okay," he replied. Thank you nontoxic, washable Crayola.
"Did you happen to wipe your face afterwards?" I asked.
"Um, no," he said. Instead of arguing the obvious I sent him to the sink in the bathroom and told him not to come out until he was a lot less blue. Then I removed all markers from his room...indefinitely.

HAHA! Markers have been taken away from each child in this house at different times.
Just last Saturday, Bennett drew on the comforter downstairs, which is the first time something like that has ever happened. He was supposed to be grounded from markers indefinitely, and then I forgot. That's some good parenting for ya.
One time about a year ago or so, Norah was also using markers during her quiet time. When I went to check on her I noticed that EVERY piece of furniture as well as all 4 walls and the closet doors had marker on them. She even colored on the window and window sill. I handed her a sponge and a bucket of soapy water and she didn't come out until she had cleaned everything. Again - thank goodness for washable markers!
Lucy colors on her body every chance she gets. She will sneak a marker from Norah, lift up her shirt and color, then put the marker back. If it was for catching her in action - we would never know until bedtime!
The only thing missing are the pictures!! You must have taken at least one photo of our small smurfy friend ;)
